Try our version of Chili Fries πŸ˜Ž

Prep Your Potatoes

Use white and/or sweet potatoes. Cut out any potato eyes and wash.
Cut the potatoes up in 1/2 inch thick match sticks.

Cook Up Your Beef

Fry fresh ground beef in a medium/large pan. Drain oil if needed.
We then added taco seasoning to the cooked ground beef.
You can use any kind of spices you like.
Go nuts!
Take the pan off of the burner, set aside, and put on a pot of oil for the potatoes!

Fry Those Spuds!

It's super handy having an oil thermometer, once it hits 360°F we put a handful of potatoes in. Keep an eye on the oil temperature, keeping it around 360/350°F. Stir them to ensure they don't stick. Once they turn golden brown, place them onto a bowl lined with paper towel. Salt those spuds ASAP and toss! 😁

Prep Rest Of Ingredients
Get your cheese and sauce ready!
Grate up some cheese, use any kind you like. We used marble πŸ§€

For some sauce to top your chili fries, we mixed up mayonnaise and bacon ranch salad dressing. To keep this sauce simple, we added some mayo to the almost empty salad dressing bottle for an easy squeeze.

Give the bottle a good shake!

Assemble & Broil!
Get ready a parchment paper lined pan. Start with placing down your fries and topping them with half your grated cheese. Then add on the beef!

Top the beef layer with the rest of your cheese! Check it out!

Get this beautiful tray in the oven!!!
Watch it in there, it may not take too long. You want to warm up the beef and melt the cheese.
Around 5 minutes should do it

Top your chili fries with sauce or set aside for dipping, your choice!

NOW WE EAT! πŸ˜„ DIG IN!

Scalloped Potatoes

Wanted to make this creamy cheesy dish from scratch without using heavy cream. I found @hellocomfortkitchen’s cheesy scalloped potato gratin recipe and added a couple extras. For meat/ham, I added bologna and cut them up into matchsticks.  I didn’t have white onions, only onion powder and though some garlic powder would be good! πŸ˜‰ 2 lbs. medium potatoes, yellow/Yukon gold , peeled out eyes 3 Tablespoons margerine 1 slice Bologna cut up into 2 inch long matchsticks  1 teaspoon onion & garlic powder 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour 2 cups milk (2%) 1 teaspoon dijon mustard 1/2 teaspoon  cayenne pepper 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cups (8 oz.) Shredded Cheese (I used marble) 1/2 cup crushed Ritz crackers Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cut potatoes into 1/4-inch thick slices and set aside. Roasted Potatoes w/ Bologna & Garlic Butter

Check these babies out! I changed up the original recipe and added bologna πŸ˜‰ Started with picking out nice sized potatoes. I used yellow potatoes, cut the eyes and the bad spots out. Then cut slits almost 3/4 through the potato and about 1/8 - 1/4 inch thick. Go slow and take your time cutting these. Melt some butter, veggie oil, chopped garlic, salt and pepper in the microwave.  Slowly spoon butter over top of the potatoes while opening each cut to let butter seep in between.  Get those little chunks of garlic in too! Cut strips of bologna to slide into the cuts, between each potato slice. I skipped over every 2 cuts/slice so the potato wasn’t over powered by meat. 😊  Topped these beauties with grated marble cheese! Cover them with tin foil, poke slits on top then put in the oven at 400 °   for 35 minuets.  For a golden brown top, uncover and put back in for another 10 minutes.
